Description

Frozen mealworms – natural, versatile and rich in protein

Our mealworms are bred under high quality standards – completely free from harmful chemicals or pesticides. The result is a safe, nutrient-rich feed for many animal species.

High-quality protein source: Mealworms are rich in protein and healthy fats, ideal for muscle building and energy supply. They also contain essential vitamins and minerals that contribute to health and vitality.

Natural nutrition without additives: Free from harmful substances, pesticides and artificial preservatives – perfect for species-appropriate and healthy feeding.

Suitable for which animals?
Birds: Chickens, wild birds such as tits, woodpeckers, robins
Reptiles: Geckos, bearded dragons, other lizards
Amphibians & invertebrates: Frogs, salamanders, tarantulas
Fish: Larger ornamental fish, e.g. cichlids
Small mammals: Hamsters, mice, hedgehogs

Thawing the mealworms
Gentle thawing: Thaw mealworms in a container at room temperature before feeding. This takes about 30–60 minutes depending on quantity. Nutrients are preserved and they are easier to eat.

Quick thawing – warm water: Place mealworms in a sieve and pour warm water over them to thaw faster. Make sure the water is not too hot to avoid cooking the mealworms.

Feeding recommendation
Ensure a varied diet and a balanced calcium-phosphorus ratio – especially for reptiles and young animals. Targeted feeding („gut loading“) before feeding can further improve nutrient quality.

Benefits of frozen insects
Preservation of valuable nutrients: Proteins, healthy fats and fiber are largely preserved – without preservatives.
Long shelf life through freezing.

Storage:
Store in the freezer or
freezer compartment.
