How EntoZoo began
A student idea grew into a brand for sustainable insect protein — gently processed in Bremen, for animals and the environment alike.
From an idea to a brand
Florian Berendt, an agricultural engineer with more than ten years of experience in the organic sector, always had a soft spot for innovative, sustainable solutions in farming. Hands-on experience on organic farms in northern Germany and his studies at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences immersed him deeply in the world of organic animal and crop production. Even during his studies he devoted himself to an idea that was still little noticed at the time but full of promise: insects as an alternative source of protein for animal nutrition.
After graduating in 2017, Florian gained valuable international experience in project management for sustainable agriculture. Whether plum and walnut projects in Kyrgyzstan or mango cultivation in Mali – Florian was always a driver of innovations that combine ecological principles with efficiency and practicality. His work took him to a number of countries and brought him into contact with the global challenges and opportunities of sustainable farming.
But one thing never let go of him: the question of how insects as a resource for the future could be integrated even better into existing cycles. When he began working more intensively on concepts for using crickets and other insects, he quickly recognised the enormous potential.

This vision gave rise to EntoZoo: a brand dedicated to producing and advancing insects for animal food. Since 2020, Florian has been working with his team to make the most of what this unique resource can do. EntoZoo is not only a sustainable alternative to conventional feed, but also a contribution to a more ecological feeding system that uses fewer resources.
Florian brings all of his experience and passion to EntoZoo, to build a bridge between modern animal food and the natural processes of nature.
Our products should make animals happy and take pressure off the environment – entirely in the spirit of a circular system built to last.
