Description
Description
Hermetia purée in a tin – 100% black soldier fly larva, spreadable and free from additives.
Our high-quality insect purée consists of 100% blanched, puréed soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) and has a firm, spreadable texture – entirely without additives, fillers or flavourings. The larvae are a natural, protein-rich source of food for wildlife and are taken to particularly readily.
Advantages of the black soldier fly larva
Compared with mealworms, soldier fly larvae contain less chitin (the binding material in the exoskeleton), which makes them easier to digest. They offer a particularly balanced nutrient profile of protein, fat, minerals and calcium – without the often problematic excess of phosphorus found in other feeder insects. They are also considered a particularly sustainable source of feed, as rearing them uses few resources.
The advantage of purée preserved in a tin
The purée is preserved in a practical tin and is easy to portion – ideal for year-round feeding, particularly at times when food is scarce, such as spring and autumn.
Which animals is it suitable for?
- Hedgehogs
- Reptiles (e.g. lizards, bearded dragons, chameleons)
- Amphibians (e.g. frogs, salamanders)

- Terrarium animals that live mainly on insects

Feeding recommendation
Adult hedgehogs need around 30–50 grams of food a day. Our insect purée can be used as the sole source of food or alongside others. Start with small amounts (about 10–20 grams) and watch how the animal takes to the food. Total feeding should not exceed 50 grams a day, to keep the diet balanced. Fresh water should always be available.

Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within a few days.
