Description
Description
High-quality protein source – Live Zophobas provide particularly high protein and healthy fats. They are an ideal supplement for your animals’ energy needs – especially during increased nutrient demand, e.g. during growth or breeding periods. They also contain important vitamins and minerals that contribute to overall health and vitality.
Natural feeding without additives – Our Zophobas come from controlled breeding, completely without pesticides or artificial additives. They are excellent for a natural, varied feeding routine – just like many animals know from the wild.
Zophobas are suitable for:
Reptiles such as bearded dragons, leopard geckos, skinks, chameleons
Birds such as soft-billed birds, starlings, mynas, chickens or ornamental birds with protein needs
Hedgehogs – especially wildlife rearing or care
Rodents such as rats and mice as an animal protein source (occasionally)
Large spiders and scorpions (caution: due to the hard skin only when they have the appetite for it)
Feeding recommendation
Zophobas are particularly nutritious – they provide plenty of protein and fat and are therefore ideal as an energy-rich supplement to the feeding plan. They are best combined with other insects to support a balanced diet.
For smaller animals or young animals, we recommend cutting Zophobas into pieces or feeding them carefully, as they have a tough chitin shell. This ensures that even more delicate animals can benefit from them.
Storage notes for live Zophobas:
Zophobas are best stored at room temperature (20–22 °C). Storage in the fridge is not recommended as the animals can be harmed.
Feeding:
Please feed Zophobas regularly with oats and fresh fruit or vegetables (e.g. carrot or apple pieces) and ensure sufficient humidity without causing mold growth.
Shelf life:
With good care, the animals last for several weeks.
