Description
ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
Our frozen wax moth larvae have been blanched and then frozen. This provides a more stable shape, longer shelf life after thawing and can improve feed acceptance in some animals.
Nutrient-rich:
Wax moth larvae are particularly rich in fat and also offer a good amount of protein. They provide plenty of energy and important building blocks for growth, skin and metabolism.
Due to their very high fat content, they are not suitable as the sole or main feed. They are however excellent for quickly nursing undernourished animals back to health.
Protein content:
Wax moth larvae: approx. 15–18% protein
Crickets: approx. 18–22% protein
Mealworms: approx. 20–25% protein
Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL): approx. 35–45% protein
Easy to digest:
The larvae have a relatively soft body shell that many animals can easily chew and digest, making them ideal for young animals and sensitive eaters.
Attractive taste:
Many animals love wax moth larvae because their high fat content makes them especially tasty.
BENEFITS OF OUR PRODUCT:
Made in EU:
Our wax moth larvae come from controlled breeding – for the highest quality.
Preservative-free:
We completely avoid artificial additives and preservatives, so the larvae stay naturally fresh and pure.

Preservation of valuable nutrients: Our wax moth larvae are carefully bred and frozen at the ideal time to preserve their valuable nutrients – without the use of preservatives.
Easy portioning: Frozen wax moth larvae can be easily portioned for precise dosing and minimal waste.

FEEDING RECOMMENDATION:
Thawing the larvae:
Gentle thawing: Thaw wax moth larvae in a container at room temperature before feeding. This usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the quantity. Nutrients are preserved and they are easier to eat.
Quick method – warm water:
Place larvae in a fine-mesh sieve and briefly pour lukewarm water (max. 30–35 °C) over them.
Not too hot! Otherwise proteins coagulate and the larvae lose structure and nutritional value.
Feed immediately after draining – do not leave standing.
Do not boil or heat.
Portion size:
Depending on animal species and size, 2–5 larvae per feeding. Only remove as many larvae as can be fed immediately.
Hygiene:
Clean feeding bowls regularly to avoid bacteria or mold.
STORAGE:
Store in the freezer compartment or freezer. Do not refreeze once thawed.
DELIVERY:
Delivery via express shipping in a styrofoam box with dry ice.
Important notes on handling dry ice:
Do not touch! Dry ice is about –78 °C. Direct skin contact can cause severe frostburn. Always use gloves or a cloth.
Do not swallow! Dry ice is not food. Never eat or add to drinks!
Ventilate well! Dry ice evaporates into CO₂ gas. In closed rooms this can cause oxygen deficiency. Ensure good ventilation!
Do not seal airtight! The pressure created during evaporation can cause containers to burst.
Keep away from children! Dry ice is not a toy and not for children.
Do not throw in the trash! Simply let dry ice evaporate in the open air – do not put it in closed containers or trash bins.
Do not put in water! The reaction can cause violent gas evolution and splashing – risk of injury!
