Description
Wax moth larvae are true energy bundles – ideal for building animals back up quickly.
They supply plenty of fat and a good portion of high-quality protein: nutrients for growth, skin health and metabolism. Their soft body makes them especially easy to digest, even for juveniles and sensitive eaters, and thanks to the high fat content almost every animal takes them readily.
Important note
Because of the high fat content, wax moth larvae are intended as a complementary feed – not as a complete feed. They are particularly useful for quickly building up undernourished animals.

Feeding recommendation
Depending on the animal and its size, 2–5 larvae per meal. Only take out as many as you feed straight away.
Clean the feeding bowls regularly so that no bacteria or mould can develop.

Storage and care
- Store dark and cool at 8–12 °C, for example in the vegetable drawer of the fridge
- Use air-permeable containers, do not seal them completely
- Keep the substrate dry and check regularly for dead animals and mould
- Feed oat flour, wheat bran or a honey-pollen-wax mix – no fruit, otherwise mould is likely
Stored ideally, the larvae stay alive for 1–2 weeks.
