Description
Description
Live superworms from German breeding – the energy-rich treat in your feeding plan.
Superworms (Zophobas) supply plenty of protein and healthy fats, covering an increased nutrient demand during growth or breeding season, for example. They also provide vitamins and minerals that support health and vitality. Our superworms come from controlled breeding in Germany – without pesticides and without artificial additives.
Important note
Intended as a complementary feed – not as a complete feed.
Which animals is it suitable for?
- Reptiles such as bearded dragons, leopard geckos, skinks, chameleons
- Birds such as softbills, starlings, mynahs, chickens or ornamental birds with a protein demand
- Hedgehogs – especially wild animals being reared or nursed
- Rodents such as rats and mice, occasionally as an animal protein source
- Large spiders and scorpions – because of the tough skin only when the appetite is there
Feeding recommendation
Superworms are very nutritious and therefore work best as an energy-rich supplement, ideally alternating with other insects.
For smaller animals or juveniles, cut the superworms into pieces or offer them with tweezers – their chitin skin is tough.
Storage and care
Store superworms at room temperature (20–22 °C). They suffer in the fridge – that is not the place for them.
Feed them regularly with rolled oats and fresh fruit or vegetables such as pieces of carrot or apple. Keep the humidity high enough without letting mould form. With good care the animals stay vital for several weeks.
