Desert locusts – premium live feed for insectivores of every size.
The desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria) is active by day, strikingly coloured and a keen jumper – which reliably triggers your animals' hunting instinct. Careful breeding and a diet of fresh feed, dry feed, vitamins and minerals make these locusts particularly vital and long-lived.

Sizes
- Small: young locusts, ideal for small terrarium animals
- Medium: mid-sized, for medium lizards or frogs
- Subadult: almost grown, ideal for growing animals
- Adult: sexually mature, up to 8 cm, perfect for large insectivores

Feeding recommendation
- Only offer as many locusts as your animals can eat in a short time.
- Ideally dust with a vitamin and mineral preparation before feeding.
- Young locusts are particularly suitable for smaller terrarium animals.
- Large adult locusts are ideal for larger insectivores.

Storage and keeping
- Keep short-term in a spacious tank at 25–30 °C.

- Clean the container regularly and give mineral powder promptly.
