Suitable for which animals?

• Birds: Blackbirds, tits, robins, woodpeckers, wrens, canaries, zebra finches
• Chickens: Lohmann Brown, Sussex, silkies, dwarf cochins and robust breeds like Marans
• Fish: Koi carp, goldfish, trout, catfish, perch, sunfish, killifish
• Reptiles: Geckos, bearded dragons, spiny-tailed agamas, chameleons, monitors, turtles
• Wildlife: Foxes, hedgehogs, raccoons

Feeding recommendation

• Ensure a varied diet and a balanced calcium-phosphorus ratio – especially for reptiles and young animals. Targeted feeding („gut loading“) before feeding can further improve nutrient quality.
• Crickets can simply be placed in the terrarium or enclosure,
• do not give too many at once so they are all eaten and no crickets are left running around the terrarium stressing the animal.
• Remove uneaten crickets after a while so they do not disturb the animal or hide in the enclosure.

Storage notes

• Keep crickets in a well-ventilated box or cricket container at 20–25 °C.
• Provide a piece of egg carton or cardboard as a hiding place.
• Feeding before feeding: provide crickets with fruit, vegetables or special feed („gut loading“) to optimize their nutrient content for your animals.
• Offer moisture, e.g. through carrot pieces or a small sponge with water – avoid open water bowls as crickets can drown in them.
• Dead crickets should be removed regularly.
